Happy New Month ,
Hi happy new month just a note to tell you I didn’t forget you cos I know God has been taking care of you , so this month GOD laid it in my mind to share a very popular story in the Bible with you ,about man called Lazarus , my text is taken from JOHN 11vrs 1- 45 , please come with me as I give you some insight to what God is about to bring forth in your life
Vrs 1- 2 Now a certain man was sick, Lazarus from Bethany, of the village of Mary and her sister, Martha.
2It was that Mary who had anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother, Lazarus, was sick
Explanation --- remember you might be bereaved , ill , or in problems but God has not forgot , despite the fact that Jesus loved Mary , Martha and Lazarus their brother , it didn’t stop Lazarus from dying , but God has to glorify himself irrespective of whatever we are going through
Vrs 3- 4 3The sisters therefore sent to him, saying, "Lord, behold, he for whom you have great affection is sick."
4But when Jesus heard it, he said, "This sickness is not to death, but for the glory of God, that God's Son may be glorified by it."
Explanation --- always share your problems , whatever you are going through with people who can remind God about you and pray with you , another thing is that God might be silent for now so that he might be glorified in the end and that’s the reason why he said Lazarus sickness is not to death but that his name might be glorified
Vrs 11-15 , 11He said these things, and after that, he said to them, "Our friend, Lazarus, has fallen asleep, but I am going so that I may awake him out of sleep."
12The disciples therefore said, "Lord, if he has fallen asleep, he will recover."
13Now Jesus had spoken of his death, but they thought that he spoke of taking rest in sleep.
14So Jesus said to them plainly then, "Lazarus is dead.
15I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, so that you may believe. Nevertheless, let's go to him."
Explanation – you problems is just an illusion to God, he knows about it , he hears your cry , because he knows its all a lie of the devil everything is going to be all right and that’s the reason why he made the statement in vrs 15
Vrs 21- 26 Therefore Martha said to Jesus, "Lord, if you would have been here, my brother wouldn't have died.
22Even now I know that, whatever you ask of God, God will give you."
23Jesus said to her, "Your brother will rise again."
24Martha said to him, "I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day."
25Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will still live, even if he dies.
26Whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?"
Explanation – we should have faith that God can do it and he will do it again and again ,even if the deed has been done , joy commeth in the morning , all the dead things in your life shall rise again if Lazarus can rise , then u can , if you believe remember vrs 25
Vrs 33- 35 33When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews weeping who came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled,
34and said, "Where have you laid him?" They told him, "Lord, come and see." 35Jesus wept.
Explanation --- Jesus is groaning with you he knows and feels your pain he has heard the cry of your heart and he is ready to do something
Vrs 39- 40 Jesus said, "Take away the stone." Martha, the sister of him who was dead, said to him, "Lord, by this time there is a stench, for he has been dead four days." 40Jesus said to her, "Didn't I tell you that if you believed, you would see God's glory
Explanation --- don’t let people tell you the time is up don’t feel you are getting old , don’t concentrate on your limitations God can do it anytime remember vrs 40
Vrs 41- 42 41So they took away the stone from the place where the dead man was lying. Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, "Father, I thank you that you listened to me. 42I know that you always listen to me, but because of the multitude that stands around I said this, that they may believe that you sent me."
Explanation —always praise God for what he is about to do , when nothing works , apply praise , thank him for what you have is greater than what you don’t have ,
Vrs 43- 44 When he had said this, he cried with a loud voice, "Lazarus, come out!" 44He who was dead came out, bound hand and foot with wrappings, and his face was wrapped around with a cloth. Jesus said to them, "Free him, and let him go."
Explanation – you shall come forth this month , everything dead and bounded in your life God will set it free , you shall be free , because Jesus said today on your behalf vrs 44 "Free him, and let him go."
Vrs 45 --45Therefore many of the Jews, who came to Mary and saw what Jesus did, believed in him.
Explanation – get set people are going to see Gods wonders in your life and praise God with you , because of these miracles lives will be changed ,
